BOLLINGTON UNITED 1996-2004

The concept of playing challenge games in local stadia emerged during the first season, when the opportunity to play a game at Moss Rose, Macclefield, arose. For subsequent seasons, fixtures were played not just in Cheshire, but in Derbyshire and Staffordshire. As with the European tours, Bollington maintained a 100% record throughout.

Warm day, sun breaking through cloud. Large pitch, very hard surface.  

1^st period Bollington well on top.

2^nd period WJB on top but several clear bollington chances were missed.

3^rd period was even until WJB scored. Bollington dominated from that point.

Fairly warm day, cloudy. Bald patches down centre of pitch.  

Even possession in first half, but Bollington missed several chances.

Fairly warm day, cloudy. Flat good pitch.

Bollington dominated large part of first half and didn't convert all their chances. Took chances well in second half but conceded territory for long periods. Conceded 2 goals in last 4 minutes, but held on.

COMMENT

Totally one sided game, but with Egerton scoring from their only attack of first half. Bollington’s dominance and superiority marred by very poor finishing, with countless chances missed. However, a very classy performance with many passing moves.
